Dion van de Schoot, Advanced Emergency Medicine Registrar ACEM, Wellington, New Zealand. Co-founder and COO of Surfing Medicine International, Chair of the World Conference | Expo  Surfing Medicine. 

Dion is most of all watermen by nature, father of 1 yr old grommet surfer girl, works currently as an Emergency doctor in Waikato Hamilton NZ, and has special interest in CRM in remote environment, Drowning, Mental Health Crisis management, Point of Care Ultrasound and Medical Education. He was trained in The Netherlands, followed his medical career in Peru, UK and New Zealand. 

Over last 10 years, chair / head organiser of 5 previous WCSM events, passionate to build platforms with true global mindset to connect all stakeholders in Surfing around Health, Performance and Ocean environment. 

Paddling out sharing waves, creating new inspiring friendships, learning from others, speaking a zillion languages and exchanging culture- a life full of Surfing has so much to give. Our global surf community, a family of over 20 million individuals, inspired by ocean elements are ambassadors for global health and ocean environment.
