It is on again!!! We proudly announce the 3rd Annual Conference in Surfing Medicine in Sligo and Mullaghmore, Ireland!
A dhaoine uaisle, ba mhaith linn fáilte a chur romhaibh go hÉirinn – Ladies and Gentlemen, We’d like to welcome you to Ireland!
From 9 – 13 September the 3rd Annual Conference will be held in Sligo/Mullaghmore, Ireland.
The European Association of Surfing Doctors (EASD) wishes to extend an invitation to all Stoked Surfing Health Professionals; come join us at Mullaghmore, one of Europe’s premiere Big Wave Surfing Spots, on the NW coast of Ireland and be part of this exciting event.
This year we are “Taking Surfing Medicine to Extremes” and will be joined by forerunners in Extreme Surfing and Medicine, including: Irish Big Wave Surfer, Billabong XXL 2013 Finalist, Lifeguard, and Paramedic, Peter Conroy; Wilderness-Expedition Medicine trailblazer, Brazilian Dr. Karina Oliani; Hawaiian Pipeline Masters Doctor and co-author of “Surf Survival”, Dr. Clayton Everline, and many more special guests.
This Conference will deliver high quality, CME accredited, content through fascinating lectures, practical “hands-on” workshops, and for the first time, expert-led Master classes.
Our speakers include global leaders in their respective fields who are ready and willing to provide specialist knowledge, insight, and inspiration to delegates.
Incorporating topics on all aspects of Surfing Medicine, attendees will have the opportunity to learn, share knowledge and experience, and participate in both structured, and informal, discussion relating to the challenges of Big Wave settings and Surf Exploration in Extreme environments.
In the words of Mr. Pipeline (a.k.a. Gerry Lopez): ‘When in Doubt. Paddle Out‘.

Also alert for your Surf Buddy and friends for the first Surfers Academy!! We invite all Surfing Doctors and Allied Health Professionals to bring their buddies and mate for the Surfers Academy on the 13th of September!* Stay tuned for more info and see the preliminary programme for a brief overview of the Academy.
For the first time, the EASD will host the Surfer’s Academy – a One-Day Symposium on Health-related issues affecting the Surfer and Surfing Communities. This Symposium will be organised for the non-medically trained surfers, and does not form part of the Medical Conference, but all conference attendees are invited to join*. We want to ask you to bring your stoked non-medical surf buddies to attend this day!
*At the Surfer’s Academy on the 13th of September all medical conference attendees are welcome to join, but as our aim this day is to inform the surfer to keep the “surfer healthy and safe”, surfers that register have priority in seating themselves in the conference room. We will arrange TV screens with live broadcast from the conference room(same building) and seating outside of the conference room if needed if the capacity of the conference room is met.
