WCSM Speaker – Delphine Besson
My name is Delphine Besson, I’m 34, I was born in Sri Lanka and adopted by a Swiss family when I was 6 weeks old.
A neuro issue was diagnosed in June 2014 and since I’m fighting for having a normal life. I’m not able to work so I’m on medical leave. My right hand is still shaking despite my treatment, and as I’m right -hander it is difficult to perform on daily life activities, let alone my favorite hobby surfing.
Delphine means dolphin, I guess I belong to the ocean. Maybe also because of my Sri Lankan’s blood I don’t know. I’m definitely not a real Swiss person. I don’t like winter, and I don’t like skiing or snowboarding.
Oahu in Hawaii is my favorite place to surf. It’s like home for me. I try to travel there once a year.
My hobbies are wakesurfing, ocean in general, surfing and indoor skydiving. I like to feel free.
My philosophy is simple ” Don’t dream your life, live your dreams”
